Marco De la Cruz is a Dominican designer and developer who currently lives and works in New York City. Marco meticulously constructs user interfaces and designs user experiences for a variety of websites and mobile apps. His minimalist yet impactful work creates an effortless experience for any consumer.
Marco was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1988. He studied drawing & painting throughout his youth and later received an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from Altos de Chavón in La Romana, D.R., in 2009. During his time at Chavón, Marco developed a passion for technology and chose to continue his studies there. He received his Associate Degree in Digital Design at Altos de Chavón in 2010.
While completing his degrees at Altos de Chavón, Marco received a full scholarship to attend Parsons The New School for Design in New York City and received his BFA in Design & Technology from Parsons in 2012. Upon his graduation, he secured a job as a Developer at Livestream in New York City; and got his way up inside the company to be Product Designer. Over the course of his two years at Livestream, Marco completed a range of design and development projects elevating the product’s functionality for its clients, including a complete refresh and new features of its mobile apps for iOS & Android devices and their Google Glass app. Marco joined Timehop in August 2014 as a Product Designer where he worked directly with he brand and designing new features.
Right now, Marco works with INTURN as a Lead Designer.
He draws inspiration from such diverse sources as video games, Abstract Expressionist painting, Deconstructivist & Futurist architecture, 8-bit art and comic books. In his spare time, Marco enjoys bike-riding, Lego builds, pins, puns and barbecuing.
